MELROSE STUDIOS

The studio is conveniently located just minutes from i35 & Shawnee Mission Parkway on Nieman Rd. There are several restaurants nearby including McLains, Chic-Fil-A and Dutch Bros!

The studio has two doors, one facing Nieman Rd and the other facing the parking lot. The smart lock pad is located on the door that faces the parking lot. You will use the directions in the email sent to you after you book your session to gain entry into the studio.

Your personalized key code for the door will activate 10 minutes prior to your rental period starting. If the studio is empty when you arrive, you are welcome to enter the studio early. Note that we frequently run back to back appointments. If someone is in the studio and you arrive prior to your rental period starting, you may not enter the studio until your rental period begins.

Your rental period will not be extended due to you or the client running late. If additional time is needed you can email melrosestudios@fractionfoto.com to request additional time. Additional time is not guaranteed and based on other scheduled bookings. If time is available the standard hourly rate will apply and be charged to the card on file.

We do not offer refunds however we do allow reschedules within specific parameters. Reschedule requests for bookings Monday - Friday must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Reschedules for bookings on Saturday and Sunday must be made at least 72 hours in advance. Reschedules must be requested in writing to the following email address: melrosestudios@fractionfoto.com and take place within 30 days of your scheduled booking. If proper notice is not received within the required timeframe a reschedule will not be granted.

The studio operates in all weather conditions as it is heated and does have central air conditioning. If there is an extreme weather emergency contact us in writing at melrosestudios@fractionfoto.com for a case by case conversation.

In the studio you will find white posing blocks, chairs, stools, benches, a couch and a queen size bed as well as various child sized baskets and sitting props.

Yes, you may bring your own props for sessions however they must be removed at the end of your rental period.

Yes! Just make sure you have enough time rented to set up, shoot your minis and clean up. No fancy rules here!

Yes! You are welcome to bring any food items but please make sure all food (including icing) stays on the plexiglass protector or any other surface you bring. You are responsible for cleaning all messes within your booked amount of time. There is a changing table in the bathroom for a wet wipe bath - do not allow baths in the sink. The sink is not strong enough to support weight and the drain is not big enough to support food debris. You will be charged for damages, including staining to furniture and if a plumber needs to come out.

Yes, you may bring pets into the studio however you are responsible for any damages related to the animal including potty accidents. There is a grassy area directly outside of the studio where animals may relive themselves. Please ensure that all animals are being properly picked up after.

The studio will comfortably fit 10-15 people. I wouldn't have more than 20 at the very most in there.

While both Renee and Monika shoot here often, their services are not included in the rental fee. Renting the studio is for professional photographers looking for a studio to shoot a session at.

You must be 18 or older to rent the studio. Anyone being photographed under the age of 18 must have parent or legal guardian approval as well as be accompanied by an adult during the session time. You as the photographer are responsible for confirming the age of anyone in the studio and Melrose Studios does not have any responsibility to verify the age of the subjects being photographed during your rental period. Melrose Studios does have the right to demand proof of parental or legal guardian approval and is not liable for invalid proof of verification documents.

Nudity is allowed however the photographer is responsible for confirming the age of any subject being photographed. No sexual acts, including sex by any definition, is allowed in the studio. You as the photographer are responsible for ensuring that anyone in the studio during your rental period is acting within a professional atmosphere and the welfare of all is of the highest priority. If we observe or are made aware of any acts that are illegal, negligent or dangerous we reserve the right to stop the rental period immediately, Melrose Studios will alert the Shawnee Police Department and no refund will be given.

Yes. We do use Ring cameras at the main door that everyone comes in and out of (where the key pad is) as well as the main room. They are only monitored when we need to address an issue or complaint. There are no cameras in the client closet or bathroom for client privacy.
